Are Adirondack chairs good for patio seating?

The Pandemic has done us all at least one good turn: we have fallen in love with the outdoor space in the security of our own garden. Each family is able to creatively design, purchase, and set up the ideal alfresco area for loved ones and friends, making choices that will last.

Why is a patio important? It is a place of your own where you can relax when the weather is perfect, you can engage with your children in comfort, or enjoy the warmth of a fire ring in complete peace. You can grill for your guests with a set-up which pleases you, and once everything’s in place there is very little re-arranging to worry about. It’s far easier (and much less expensive) to design an outdoor space than it is to add another family room to your home. Why be inside if you can step into your own corner of nature?

Lordship Chairs: step into your own corner of nature.

Don’t only think about comfort (very important), but also about possibly being in view of your neighbours. You wouldn’t want to choose garish plastic in loud colours, nor something that blows about in the wind with skinny legs that get stuck in your pavers! Metal can be chilly and uncomfortable, so go for natural, sustainably sourced wood.

At Lordship, our Adirondack chair sets have been designed with patio use in mind.

At Lordship, our Adirondack chair sets have been designed with patio use in mind. Three or four chairs fit comfortably in a 12-foot-square area, with ample space for two garden coffee tables and a pair of footrests (recommended for our taller customers). The broad, stable no-tip engineering, the gentle recline of the back, and the ample, wide seat are all part of our unique, refined design.

These larch wood Adirondack seats can stay out in the weather, requiring minimal care. They are easy to scrub should you have birds to deal with, and age naturally to a gentle silvering-grey. Adding our soft Adirondack chair cushions for your chairs is a good investment especially for the over-sixties (see two colours to choose). You don’t need to have a roof or even a shade arrangement, but putting the cushions under cover from the rain is recommended.

You’ll be wanting to stay out in the cool of evening watching the glow worms and the stars.

If you opt for a couple of our sturdy coffee tables, you won’t need a dining table. The wide armrests on Lordship chairs are perfect for your plate of food and beer mug, and give a good grasp-and-pull site to aid in standing up. A fire ring adds a lovely touch to the patio….you’ll be wanting to stay out in the cool of evening watching the glow worms and the stars.

Got a pool in the yard? Keep an eye on your children while reclining in our gently contoured deck seats. You’ll be happy for hours with your reading, knitting, and cup of tea.
